Privacy Policy
Pocket Fishing Guide (by Tale Waters & Tides) helps Arkansas anglers fish by the data. We keep what we collect minimal and use it only to make the app useful to you. This is an early draft and will be finalized before any wider launch.
What we collect
- Your email address — to send your one-tap sign-in link and, if you opt in, occasional updates.
- Profile & preferences you provide — display name, home water, target species, fishing style, and similar choices you enter when you set up your profile.
- In-app activity — the waters and species you save or plan, so we can personalize your read. Stored against your account when you're signed in.
- Location (optional, on your device) — if you allow it, we use your device's live location to show the waters nearest you and center the map. It stays on your device (in your browser) and is never sent to our servers or stored by us.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't store, share, or sell your location — it's used live on your device only — and we don't log your catches.
- We don't require a password — sign-in is a secure email link.
How we use it
To authenticate you, personalize the fishing intel you see, and (only with your consent) send preparation and learning reminders. The fishing signals themselves are derived from public sources (USGS, NWS, USACE).
Your choices
Self-serve profile, communication, and account-deletion controls are coming as we build out accounts. For now, email us and we'll update or delete your data.
